Talking to no one is hard :c
This weeks gone rather well as we have spent time together generating our ideas together and pushing them further. We got quite a bit of concepting and trailer bits done while really creating a firm idea for us all to work with.
After presenting our work today in front of the class it was brought to our attention that there is already a game existing with a similar premise “Payday: The Heist”. This was pretty terrifying for us when we had put so much work into the games premises so far.
Our general decision is not to sway and still to keep with our original idea as the style is largely different from that found in “Payday”. Though we may make minor changes based around timeline, location, and style in order to aid in keeping our level iconic.
Learn from your competition, and do better.
This week see’s the start of my group project “Heist”. Originally we had planned on making a Greek temple focusing on environment elements to create a clean piece. Though it soon became clear that we were struggling to pin the idea down and in the true spirit of games art we decided to change the project to something we could more easily picture.
Heist is based on the ongoing fashion of bank robbery, with game play based around a similar concept to counterstrike, and environments focused on bringing Greek architecture in to a sci fi modern setting.
Knowing the importance of research we have all been working hard to pin down the idea and incorporate the Greek theme into the work.
Recent show reel for the animation elective hand in. Had allot of fun but didn’t get enough time to give it the polish I would have wanted.
For one of the assignments this year we have to do a industry art test of our choice, I made the decision to go with the Arena Net art test because I feel it suits my style best. Here’s the current progress, got a long way still to go.

Bellow are some test image’s from a animation I had been working on with some friends.

and here’s a games model I was working on to practice my hard surface.
